From 2023 to 2025, Tip Tray Theatre held an annual writing competition that gave 8 writers the experience working with a professional director and cast of actors to develop and showcase 20 minutes of their writing to a live audience and panel of industry professionals.

The competition resulted in one writer winning a selection of prizes and the chance to have their play produced professionally.

What Happens Next? was produced in collaboration with The Hope Street Theatre.
