24,000 Hours

R&D

In June 2025, we began a 2 week research and development process of a new piece of dance theatre that focuses on the experience of people with disabilities and long term health conditions in the UK healthcare system.

We interviewed 10 disabled people and documented their experiences, to create a verbatim script that goes alongside movement created in the room. From the interviews and personal lived experience of the team, we wanted to focus on the social and medical model of disability, the idea of wellness, difference, trauma, waiting and community.

This short film is a proof of concept and a snapshot of what we hope will grow into a full-length stage production. We’re proud to share this film with you and invite you into the process. We hope you enjoy it!
